Logo resources – There are quite a few logo resources available on the web. When Mojoe.net designs and develops a logos we use these resources to assist us in developing a logo/brand for our clients. Creating a logo is just not something to place on a business card, letterhead or that goes on your web site. You are establishing a brand for your business, that your customers will recognize and associate your business or services with; the development of your logo is crucial to establishing your identity. So there are several factors to think about when developing and designing a logo. One of them is what font you should use; should you use a font, or should your logo just be a symbol. There are some very notable symbols that we all associate with a business but has no font. For example: Nike Swoosh, Peacock for NBC, Smile for Amazon, 4 Color Boxes of Windows, and of Course we can not forget a apple that has bite taken out of it.
Symbols can convey so much by saying very little and this is one of the decision that you have to make when developing a logo for your business. After choosing weather to use a symbol or fonts next comes what is your color, style, meaning you are trying to impart to your potential customers. Colors can be just as meaningful and remember-able as a symbol. “I am sure that everyone can guess who uses purple and orange. FedEx and their competitor UPS uses brown.” Picking the right color palate for your logo well not only make your logo remember-able but it can set the tone for your brand, and how people remember you and your business.
“Why do you think most fast food logos have some form of the color red in their logos?” It is because there is a whole psychology about color. The psychology about color has developed over millions of years and we really have little to say about it started when we where all cavemen/cave-women (Want to be sure to be politically correct!); red symbolized fire which is danger but it’s why red is the most prominent color in fast food logos –red stimulates appetite and express the speed at which you will be served your meal (the real fast in fast food). Corporations spend millions of dollars each year testing colors on consumers so they can make sure that their products, services, discounts, and logos are perceived in the correct manner. Corporations want to make sure that the correct color combination is presented to you; to evoke the correct mood and perception.
So making a logo is not a simple as putting some text down and adding some color. It can be but if you want a true identity for your business then you need to have some real thought and time spent on developing your logo. So hire a designer to develop your logo so you can have a brand that your customers will remember.
